Terms and conditions

Last updated 23 September 2026

These terms cover the Turns & Tales app and this website. Turns & Tales is made by Potential Green LDA, trading as Rides on Clouds. By using the app or the site, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so if something is unclear, write to us.

1. Who we are

  • Potential Green LDA, trading as Rides on Clouds
  • NIF PT518205061
  • Registered address: Rua das Maravilhas 38A, Edf. Unique Maravilhas, bloco B apt K
  • Tourism registration: RNAAT n.º 970/2024
  • Email: anamaria@ridesonclouds.pt

2. What the app is

Turns & Tales is an audio guide for driving in Madeira. Each drive is a route with stories and practical notes that belong to places along it. The app plays them while you drive, and can download a drive so it plays without a signal.

3. Free intros, the trial and the subscription

The intro of every drive is free, and you don't need an account to hear it.

The rest of each drive is part of a subscription, sold through the App Store. New subscribers get the first 3 days free. After the trial, the subscription costs €24.99 a month, or the price the App Store shows in your country before you confirm, including VAT where it applies.

Apple takes the payment and manages the subscription, so a few of Apple's rules apply:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
  • The subscription renews automatically each month unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's terms.

Apple's standard licence terms for apps (the Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement) also apply. Where they and these terms differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

4. Driving safely

You are the driver, and the road comes first. In particular:

  • Set the app up before you drive. Don't handle the phone while the car is moving.
  • Follow the road rules and the signs, even where a drive suggests something else.
  • Stop only where it's legal and safe. A viewpoint mentioned in a drive is not permission to stop at the roadside.
  • Roads, weather, opening times and parking change. We check our information, but treat it as a guide and use your own judgement on the day.
  • Walks mentioned in a drive are at your own risk. We're not mountain guides. Check the path, the weather and your own fitness before you set off.

5. Our content

The writing, audio, routes and photographs in the app belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Your subscription lets you use them for your own trips. Please don't copy, record, republish or resell them.

6. Changes to the app and to these terms

We improve drives and add new ones, and now and then we'll change or retire a stop. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app or on this page before the change applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.

7. Liability

We're responsible for providing the app as described. We're not responsible for losses caused by how you drive, by road or weather conditions, or by using the app in a way these terms ask you not to. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or any liability that Portuguese law does not allow us to limit.

8. Complaints

If something is wrong, write to us first; we'll answer. You can also use the electronic complaints book at livroreclamacoes.pt, or an alternative dispute resolution centre for consumer disputes; the list is published at consumidor.gov.pt.

9. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes go to the courts of Madeira, without affecting any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
